Commitment breakage date

Date on which deforestation or forest degradation characterize a certain area or unit as productive, breaking commitments not to alter natural vegetation.

Date on which deforestation or forest conversion makes a certain area or production unit at odds with non-deforestation or non-conversion commitments, respectively. It is a parameter used in cases such as the TAC (Term of Adjustment of Conduct) for Beef, in Pará, and the Public Commitment for Livestock, in processes of socio-environmental adequacy of production chains for soy and other commodities, as well as for the application of rules for the maintenance and restoration of natural vegetation defined by the Brazilian forest legislation published in 2012.2012.
