Deforestation permits
Licenses issued by public agencies allowing the suppression of native vegetation in certain spaces and during certain periods.Authorizations from environmental agencies for individuals or legal entities to remove part of the native vegetation from their rural properties or possessions in delimited areas during a given amount of time. They are issued provided that the maintenance of legal reserves and permanent preservation areas in rural properties is proven. Permits must be monitored and cannot exceed the legal limits for deforestation in rural establishments in each region of the country, which are 20% in the Amazon, 35% in its transition to the Cerrado and 80% in other biomes. There are specific situations provided for in the forestry legislation that allow the felling of half of the forest on rural properties in the Amazon.
