PrevisIA

An open public platform that uses artificial intelligence to predict the regions that are at the greatest risk of deforestation in the Amazon.
An initiative of IMAZON (Institute of Man and Environment in the Amazon), Microsoft, and Fundo Vale, PrevisIA is a tool that indicates which areas throughout the Amazon are at the greatest risk of deforestation. Regions can be broken down into municipalities, protected areas, and rural settlements. This public access system provides data so that forest destruction can be prevented by governments. It uses artificial intelligence to cross-reference data on topography, land cover, socio-economics, urban infrastructure, and legal and unofficial roads, which are important drivers of deforestation in the region.
