Deforestation by mining is characterized by a loss of native vegetation caused by the extraction of various minerals. This occurs especially in the case of artisanal mining. It also includes industrial mining areas. However, these enterprises are held liable for environmental compensation and restoration after mineral extraction. 

Synonyms:

deforestation, suppression or conversion of native vegetation (more suitable terms for natural fields and other non-forest formations).
